Cool Mercedes Benz Stunts Not To Try On Public Roads
Car enthusiasts across the world are always trying out stunning stunts, but some of the stunts can only be attempted by professional drivers in special environments. It is extremely important not to attempt such stunts if they are not within the limits of your professional experience. It takes great courage even for the most experienced drivers because many risks must always be carefully weighed to make sure nothing goes wrong. We have always seen YouTube videos of people attempting different kinds of stunts in different environments, some of which make it not so easy to watch for the faint hearted.
When Mercedes needed to produce a film to promote their 2012 C63 AMG Coupe and the 2012 C63 AMG Sedan, they decided to crowd source stunt videos. After announcing to Facebook fans, the requests that came in were numerous. Eventually they did post videos for the top 3 requests that won. Professional drivers on closed courses were used to produce the videos before posting them.
In one of the video stunts called “Threading needle”, Mike Johnson driving the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe reversed at a high speed from a distance and managed to squeeze accurately past a narrow space in-between two parked cars. While such a stunt demands a very high skill level, it’s also definitely not something anyone would want to try on public roads. You have to be pretty good to do it even in a closed environment. In another stunt video for the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe promotion, Greg Tracy managed the “Figure 8 Drift” repeatedly going in circles in-between to parked cars. That was stunning to watch too. For the third video stunt set with the 2012 C63 AMG Coupe, both Mike Johnson and Greg Tracy drove at high speed from different directions to meet at a right angle, but managed to safely intersect almost without slowing down for a second. Even at a slow motion mode, it was hard to tell how the cars managed the intersection stunt which seemed too brave for anyone to try.
Mercedes Benz viral video stunts are not in shortage if you check on YouTube regularly. But in 2012, “The Catch” video stunt went viral after setting a new Guinness World Record. David Coulthard together with golf pro Jake Shepherd worked on the world record-breaking video stunt. Driving the SLS AMG Roadster, David Coulthard was able to successfully catch a golf ball into the car 275 meters away from the tee. The golf ball traveled at 178mph and it had to be black in color so that David could be able to see it while driving at high speed.
